Development and Transition aims to be a forum for policy-oriented discussions on the nature, evolution, and challenges of development and transition in Central and Eastern Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and also Turkey. It is published three times a year.
We welcome unsolicited submissions. Articles may be case studies or comparative in nature, but their geographic focus must be on the countries that fall within the region consisting of Central and Eastern Europe (including Turkey) and the CIS. Normally, articles should not be longer than 1,000 words.
The submission deadline for the upcoming issue on '20 Years of Transition and Human Development' is 15 September 2009 for first drafts. Submissions can be written in either English or Russian, and they can include tables, graphs, and minimal references. We maintain the right to edit submissions for length and style.
Materials should be sent to developmentandtransition@undp.org Authors should first submit by email an abstract of 200 words, and insert the word ABSTRACT in the subject heading of the message. This should be done by 10 September. We will then contact those authors selected for the submission of full articles. The suitability of articles for publication will be determined by at least two referees drawn from the editorial board.
